The program features a robust course list that empowers learners to explore human behavior. Courses cover the fundamental principles of the psychology field and various psychotherapy techniques from a non-clinical lens. As a student, you’ll complete five foundation courses, nine core courses, and two electives. Sample courses include:
Examine the major theoretical approaches to the practice of counseling and psychotherapy; explore key assumptions of various applied theories; and learn about strategies for effecting change.
Examine the prevalence, risk factors, effects, and recovery processes for multiple traumatic experiences; explore the cultural context of trauma recovery; and learn about evidence-based treatments.
Gain an understanding of clinical and empirical advances in positive psychology; evaluate the societal myths within this genre; and examine how these principles play out in the real world on a global scale.
GSEP seeks aspiring psychology professionals who want to better understand human behavior to serve their community and empower organizations to thrive. Learners who embrace academic challenges, and are committed to working with diverse faculty, classmates, and clients are encouraged to apply. Admissions requirements include:
