Clinical training is an integral part of the program. Both LPC and LMFT track learners are required to take four terms of clinical practicum — for a total of 700 practicum hours — under the supervision of a licensed counselor or therapist. Hands-on training prepares learners to apply their knowledge to real-world situations with real clients and to bring about real solutions.
The program facilitates access to clinical training opportunities thanks to placement specialists and partnerships with agencies across the country. All agencies meet Pepperdine University’s high standards for practice and share in their core mission of serving others with purpose, service, and leadership.
