  • Art directors: Art directors oversee designers and artists, and determine how to visually represent advertising concepts.   • Editors: There are different types of editors in marketing, including copy editors, assistant editors, managing editors, and more.   • Market research analysts: Market research analysts monitor and forecast marketing trends. They measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and strategies, collect and analyze data, and present findings to clients and management.   • Public relations managers: Public relations managers help develop and maintain an organization’s corporate image through reports, statements, press releases, speeches, and other media. They help clients communicate with the public by helping clarify an organization’s position to the public, assist and inform an organization’s leadership and spokespeople, supervise and assist public relations staff members, and handle internal communications in an organization.Footnote 9

  • Public relations specialists: Public relations, communications, and social media specialists help create and maintain an organization's positive public image and identity by getting their clients’ stories covered instead of purchasing or selling advertising space. They communicate with the public and investors, respond to media inquiries, use social media to understand public opinions of their clients, and evaluate the effectiveness of advertising and social media campaigns.Footnote 10

  • Writers: Marketing writers develop content for different types of media — from blogs, to advertising copy, to social media posts. Earning an online business degree may be a good place to start for learners interested in launching into a marketing career. Individuals can either complete a bachelor’s or master’s program in this subject area.
