State-Bank-of-India: Servant Leadership

State-Bank-of-India: Servant Leadership

In a world where leadership is often associated with power and authority, the concept of servant leadership attempts a strikingly contrasting approach to leadership.

Servant leadership implies “It's not about being served; it's about serving others, fostering collaboration, and creating an environment where everyone thrives as their authentic self.” Servant leadership represents an ideal form of leading by empowering and serving others. It helps us to understand that leadership is a selfless act, a commitment to understanding, empowering, and uplifting those we lead. It works as a tool for transforming individuals, workforce and the organization, to develop a cohesive environment for achieving the common goal.

The servant leader embarks on a journey to achieve the organizational goals by keeping the goals of people ahead of everything, and to create a collaborative culture in the organization. It creates a feeling of trust, accountability, growth and inclusion in the workplace.

This course will help the learner about servant leadership as a leadership style and as a behavioural trait of the leader focusing on the well-being of the people and their concerns. It will explain how to build trust and inculcate a sense of responsibility in the followers to enable them to achieve their personal goals in particular and organizational goals in general.
