About this Course

In Africa and abroad, property remains an exciting industry to enter — for both developers and investors — but only if you evaluate current trends and market conditions effectively to inform decision making.

This University of Cape Town (UCT) Property Development and Investment online short course aims to equip you with the skills to understand the inner workings of the property sector and empower your own property endeavors. Over eight weeks, you’ll learn how to make intelligent investment decisions, navigate the landscape of property development and entrepreneurship, and conduct property management effectively.

Guided by industry experts, you’ll leave this property course with a solid portfolio of evidence — including a sales comparison valuation report, bank loan proposal, and property management plan — and new-found knowledge that you can apply immediately in a business context.

Anyone looking to develop an understanding of a combination of property disciplines, including property development, investment, and management, will find this course beneficial. It’s designed for investors wanting to capitalize on new revenue-generation opportunities, budding developers requiring a foundational understanding of the steps involved in the development process, and established industry professionals eager to consolidate or expand their knowledge.

Due to its introductory nature, the content is also appropriate for new entrepreneurs and professionals looking to gain the practical skills required to break into property investment or the property career scape. There are no formal prerequisites for this course.
