Social Entrepreneurship
About this Course
A business-as-usual approach to social and environmental concerns is no longer enough. In an age of radical transparency and accountability, organizations need to do all they can to ensure they’re driving positive change and creating value outside of profit.
Gain an in-depth understanding of the processes, tools, and skills needed to create a socially conscious organization with the Social Entrepreneurship online short course from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Throughout this course, you’ll examine the challenges and opportunities associated with social entrepreneurship, and learn how to develop a business plan that actively addresses social issues.
Over eight weeks, you’ll examine the key organizational considerations for founding a social entrepreneurship enterprise, and learn how to measure the social impact and value it creates.
This course will benefit a variety of professionals, including current and future entrepreneurs looking to start a socially conscious organisation. Those in a management role, especially within non-profit organisations, social-sector consultancies, and social enterprises will gain the skills needed to make a measurable social impact. Policymakers will gain the knowledge and tools to better collaborate with social enterprises, philanthropic foundations, and social-impact funders. This course will also be beneficial to any leaders, executives, or managers looking to support and address a social issue and embed purpose within their firms.
Acquire the knowledge and skills to launch your own social organisation and earn an official certificate of competence from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Assessment is continuous and based on a series of practical assignments completed online. In order to be issued with a digital certificate, you’ll need to meet the requirements outlined in the course handbook. The handbook will be made available to you as soon as you begin the course.
