About this Course

The fashion industry is known for expediting trends from runway to retail, sometimes at the expense of low-income factory workers and the environment. Thanks to evolving consumer and investor sentiment and events that have exposed the impact of poor production practices, conscious buyers are pushing brands to open up about their supply chain and build more transparent narratives. Now, more than ever, it’s imperative that fashion organizations — from fast fashion to luxury brands — make way for better, more sustainable business models.

The Sustainable Fashion: Brand and Business Strategy Program explores the fashion industry’s potential to build purpose-driven and sustainable brands. Guided by expert faculty from SDA Bocconi School of Management, you’ll be introduced to holistic and proactive sustainability practices based on the Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) criteria. Explore the need for transparency in the fashion supply chain by examining its structure and challenges. Supported by real-world, global case studies, you’ll also discover how a brand's narrative can be leveraged to address consumer demands for sustainability. The curriculum also includes optional live sessions where you can network with peers and engage with program faculty and educators.

If you’re a business leader or manager looking to build a fashion brand with a positive impact, this program offers you strategic insights and analytical tools to integrate sustainability across your organization. As a marketing or brand professional, this six-week program will equip you with the skills to build a strong brand strategy and narrative that communicates your organization’s sustainability efforts to different stakeholders. Additionally, investors and consultants working in the fashion and luxury sectors, or career newcomers who are ardent social and environmental supporters, can use this program to start or grow in this dynamic industry.

Participants who successfully earn a certificate of completion for the SDA Bocconi Sustainable Fashion: Brand and Business Strategy Program may apply to enroll for the Executive Master in Luxury Management (EMiLUX). The Sustainable Fashion: Brand and Business Strategy Program certificate will count toward a segment of the Executive Master. Upon successful admission to the Executive Master, participants will be entitled to receive a discount of €3,000.

Note: Application to the Executive Master in Luxury Management is required and the assessments remain mandatory.
