Información sobre Curso

As the real estate industry becomes increasingly complex, both the public and private sectors require an in-depth understanding of the real estate development process. By developing a nuanced overview of public-private stakeholder interaction, professionals will be able to navigate the process more effectively and create value for all parties involved.

Gain insight into the real estate development process through a North American lens and explore the private-public stakeholder dynamic in the Real Estate Development: Planning and Process online short course from the MIT School of Architecture and Planning (MIT SA+P). Through the use of real-world case studies, you’ll delve into the complexities of city planning and the urban development process and explore how various stakeholders interact, compete, and negotiate.

Over six weeks, you’ll also learn how innovative public-private partnerships can create new and diverse opportunities in real estate development and assist in the transformation of cities. Guided by Professor Kairos Shen’s extensive professional and academic experience, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills to approach the public sector, and apply the concepts learned to your local context.

This course is designed for professionals within the public and private real estate sectors. Public sector stakeholders will develop the insight to reform and innovate within the standard zoning regimen. Private real estate developers will gain the knowledge and confidence to approach regulators with transformative ideas and proposals that benefit local communities. Investment professionals who understand the need for public-private partnerships within real estate will benefit from an understanding of how this relationship could affect predictions and developments within the industry.
