This course follows the Primer on RF Design course and class focuses on passive and active components. We use the techniques learned in the previous course to design advanced RF devices including couplers, filters and amplifiers. Current research topics are discussed as appropriate.
Students interested in taking this course should plan to complete the edX course, Primer on RF Design , before enrolling in this course.
Students should aldo have completed undergraduate-level coursework in electromagnetics, including fundamental concepts of RF waves and transmission lines.
After successfully completing this class, students will be able to:
Week 1: Basic Filter Design Concepts
Week 2: Coupled Transmission Lines
Week 3: Coupling Matrix Theory
Week 4: Advanced Filter Design; Introduction to Amplifiers
Week 5: Linear and Low-noise Amplifiers
Who can take this course?
Unfortunately, learners residing in one or more of the following countries or regions will not be able to register for this course: Iran, Cuba and the Crimea region of Ukraine. While edX has sought licenses from the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to offer our courses to learners in these countries and regions, the licenses we have received are not broad enough to allow us to offer this course in all locations. edX truly regrets that U.S. sanctions prevent us from offering all of our courses to everyone, no matter where they live.
