What will the parking of the future look like ?
The 2021-2022 edition of the Groundscape Architecture Lab focuses on the future of underground parking infrastructures.
Organised with the support of Indigo Group, world leader in parking solutions, the course will teach students a variety of architectural strategies that can be applied to the transformation of new and existing parking infrastructures, which are at the heart of the current paradigm shift in mobility, logistics and energy.
The students will be able to benefit from live feedback and monthly presentations by professors Ignacio Ferrer and Octave Perrault as well as other guests.
The course will prepare the participants for the upcoming architecture competition Parking Futures to be launched at the end of 2021.

This MOOC has been structured along two axes:
I. THE GROUNDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE LAB
The Groundscape Architecture Lab will provide you with the theoretical backbone necessary to understand Groundscape as a strategy to solve some of the more important urban challenges and dysfunctions of our time. Professor Dominique Perrault, along with instructors Juan Fernández-Andrino and Richard Nguyen, will guide you through visits of Groundscape projects, and teach you some of the indispensable tools needed to develop your own Groundscape Project.
II. THE CARPARK FUTURES DESIGN STUDION
The Carpark Futures Design Studio is a unique platform where students will develop their own personal Groundscape project. Conceived as a choral exercise, you will be invited to exchange ideas with your peers and instructors Ignacio Ferrer and Octave Perrault. This special edition will explore what the future of underground Carparks could like as radical shifts in mobility threaten their current status as necessary urban actors. The ultimate goal of this course is to prepare you for the Carpark Futures Competition, an international call for entries that will run parallel to this MOOC.
THE CARPARK FUTURES COMPETITION
In close correlation with this MOOC we will be launching an international call for entries to further explore the theme of the Carpark Futures Design Studio. This singular challenge will allow MOOC students to submit the work developed in this course as a an entry for the Carpark Futures Competition.
