Professor, Department of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Radiology at Nihon University School of Dentistry, Tokyo, Japan
Yoshinori Arai is a dentist and holds a Doctorate in Dental Sciences (PhD from Nihon University). He is a full professor at Nihon University, School of Dentistry. Arai is a member of DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology and the Immediate Past President of ACOMFR (the 13th Asian Congress of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Radiology).
In the late 1990s, he developed the world's first limited volume and high-resolution cone beam computed tomography for dentistry. He has received the Special Award of the Japanese Society for Oral and Maxillo-Facial Radiology (2001), the Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy Award for Contributing to Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration (2003, in Japan), and the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award (2007, in Japan). He is a co-author of two books in English and has more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, in addition to multiple invited lectures and publications in other journals or books.
