Silvina Hanono Wachman

Principal Lecturer, Electrical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology

About me

I am a lecturer in the EECS department at MIT, where I have been teaching our Computation Structures course since 2012. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. I received my MS and PhD from MIT where I did research in computer architecture.

I worked in industry as an Engineering Manager at Akamai Technologies for about a dozen years after receiving my PhD. I particularly loved working there in its early days where it really operated as a start up. After working at Akamai for many years, I decided that I wanted to return to MIT to pursue my passion in teaching which I have had my entire life. I came back to teach our introductory digital design and computer architecture course, which I also taught during my PhD, and have been teaching it ever since. I have also been involved in teaching several other courses in the department and I have just released a new course that teaches programming in C and assembly language.
