Nikhil Vadgama is an accomplished Lecturer (Teaching) of Financial Computing in the Department of Computer Science at University College London (UCL). He is the Deputy Director of the prestigious UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies, as well as the Programme Director of the MSc Financial Technology at UCL. Nikhil teaches across several programmes at the UCL Department of Computer Science, UCL School of Management, and Peking University.
He has been instrumental in creating numerous ground breaking educational programmes, including the Master’s in Financial Technology and Master’s in Emerging Digital Technologies at UCL, as well as a pioneering Blockchain MOOC on the FutureLearn platform. Nikhil has also led education development at the DEC Institute. Nikhil's commercial experience spans multiple sectors, including Education, Real Estate, and Fintech, and has extended globally in both the public and private sectors.
At UCL, Nikhil has been instrumental in commercializing and publishing academic research on financial technology, decentralized finance, and the applications of emerging digital technologies, particularly blockchain, across a wide range of industries. He has worked and consulted for some of the world's most prestigious organizations, including Central Banks from Central and South America, on the design and implementation of Central Bank Digital Currencies. He represents UCL on the Governing Council of Hedera Hashgraph, a role that further exemplifies his exceptional knowledge and leadership in the field.
Nikhil is an accomplished author, having published numerous highly respected publications, reports, and academic papers in the fields of Blockchain, Supply Chains, Real Estate, AI, and Fintech. His highly acclaimed book, "Enabling the Internet of Value: How Blockchain Connects Global Businesses," stands as a testament to his expertise in this field.
