Senior Program Officer, INSPIRE MOOC Content Lead and Learning Facilitator at Columbia University, Care and Protection of Children (CPC) Learning Network
Nicolas joined the CPC Learning Network at Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health as a Senior Program Officer and Coordinator of the INSPIRE Working Group in May of 2018. He brings an extensive experience in project management, supporting scale up of promising interventions, capacity building, and evaluation for the social sector. Most recently, he served as a Senior Manager at the Social Impact Exchange where he managed various philanthropic projects and worked at the intersection of health, education and early childhood to support national, regional and local systems change efforts through systems mapping, analysis and cross-sector collaboration models.
Previously, he was a Program Director at Bolder Giving where he planned, managed and oversaw various philanthropic initiatives, including Environmental Justice and Global Givers ( focusing on Western Balkans ) projects, promoting individual philanthropy for social, racial, economic and environmental justice. He also served as the Deputy to the President and then as Deputy Director of Development for the Roosevelt Institute, a leading national policy think-tank working with emerging leaders and Nobel laureate economists, policy makers and communicators to write and help enact local, state, and national policy for a more inclusive economy. Earlier, Nicolas was a Marketing Operations and Finance Associate at the Philanthropy Workshop, leader in strategic philanthropy education, working with a global network of individual high-net-worth philanthropists and their families interested in building the skills, knowledge and networks to increase the impact of their giving.
Born and raised in Georgia ( country of ), Nicolas started off his career as an intern for the Children in Especially Difficult Circumstances program at World Vision International in Tbilisi, Georgia. Nicolas holds a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) with a concentration in Policy Analysis and Evaluation from Baruch College, City University of New York and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance.
