Marsanne was initially appointed as educational interpreter at Stellenbosch University in 2017 but has since expanded into the position of coordinator for the SASL portfolio, supporting various SASL-related projects, mentoring other SASL interpreters and promoting SASL interpreting on various platforms in and outside of the university context.

Marsanne is the coordinator for the South African Sign Language (SASL) portfolio at Stellenbosch University's Language Centre and a Masters graduate in Intercultural Communication with a focus on SASL linguistics. She has served as a freelance SASL Interpreter over the past 29 years.
