About me

As a Senior Museum Educator and Manager of National Teacher Programs at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, Julie plans and facilitates professional development for classroom teachers and museum educators onsite and online, produces online courses, coordinates the Summer Institute for Educators, teaches in the galleries and studio, and writes curriculum and educational resources. She presents regularly about deep thinking through art, meaningful pedagogies, and online learning. Formerly, she taught elementary students in Title I and Arts Integration schools using Artful Thinking routines, designed and instructed graduate-level education courses, and coached online courses. Julie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and received a Master’s degree in Arts in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She believes that making art accessible to all students contributes to each one reaching their highest potential.
