About me

Associate professor with more than 25 years’ experience in research and education on transport of water, solutes, heat and gases in top soils at the Environmental Department of Wageningen University & Research. His research focusses on physical soil transport processes in relation to agricultural production and resilience of natural vegetation. Van Dam is one of the main developers of the widely used ecohydrological model SWAP (Soil Water Atmosphere Plant). He is author and co-author of more than 75 peer reviewed international scientific publications on ecohydrology.
