Former Chair at International Women in Mining
Gillian Davidson is a leader in sustainability, ESG, and responsible supply chains with over 25 years in the extractives and natural resources sectors. Until recently, Gillian was Chair of International Women in Mining and continues to advocate for diversity in the extractive industries. Gillian is currently a senior advisor to global extractives companies and a non-executive director in a number of mining companies where she also chairs the sustainability committees of the boards.
Gillian is Chair of the Global Battery Alliance, a multi-stakeholder initiative for sustainable battery supply chains, and co-chair of the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Responsible Resource Use. She also supports a re-mining start-up initiative of the NGO RESOLVE, ReGeneration, as Chief Sustainability Officer.
Previously, Gillian was the Head of Mining and Metals at the World Economic Forum, leading global and regional initiatives for responsible and sustainable development, and was Head of Social Responsibility at Teck Resources. She has also held senior roles in government, academia, and consulting. She holds a Ph.D. in Development Economics and Geography and is an alumnus of the Governor General of Canada’s Leadership Conference.
