Amazonian Kichwa Leader & President at Fundación de KAMBAK
Nadino Calapucha is a young leader of the Amazonian Kichwa Nationality, from the Shiwakucha Community in the Arajuno Canton-Ecuadorian Amazon. He has been an activist since childhood and speaks for the rights of his people. He was part of the Youth Council of the Indigenous Movement of Ecuador in 2011. In 2004, he served as the Plurinational Representative of Indigenous Children and Adolescents of Ecuador. In 2019, he was a member of the International Committee of the Pan-Amazonian Social Forum. Nadino formerly served as the Youth Focal Point and was responsible for the communications of the Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon Basin (COICA). He was also Technical Coordinator of the Program for the Defense of Indigenous Defenders-PDDD of COICA. Currently, he is the President of the Amazonian Foundation, KAMBAK, dedicated to the protection and defense of Indigenous Territories and their biodiversity. Nadino is also a law student at the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja – Ecuador.
