Eric Van Dusen

About me

Eric Van Dusen has spent over 10 years as a lecturer at UC Berkeley, beginning as lecturer for Environmental Economics and International Area Studies. In Fall 2017, Van Dusen developed a new class teaching international development through the tools of the Data 8 Intro to Data Science course at Berkeley, and he got hooked! Van Dusen joined forces with a student team in developing a Data Science connector course on Economic Models in Fall 2019, that he is still teaching and developing new materials for. He is currently also working on an upper division course on Data Science for the Department of Economics .

Van Dusen also works on curriculum development for Data Science Education at UC Berkeley, working on getting an open source common data analysis framework into a wide range of classes and departments. Van Dusen has also worked in the areas of applied economics analysis of international and environmental issues in a variety of systems and settings.

Van Dusen holds a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from UC Davis.
