About me

Dr. Elaine Kwong is a speech therapist who specializes in managing voice disorders. Her research interest concerns closely about different therapeutic and preventive approaches for voice disorders; and the mechanisms and physiology of phonation. In recent years, she extends her research interests to swallowing disorders. She is particularly interested in the application of ultrasound imaging to the examination and rehabilitation of dysphagia, and diet modification for dysphagic individuals. Dr Kwong advocates swallowing safety and a standardized framework for diet modification in Hong Kong. She is a member of the Chinese translation group of the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) framework and a member of the Hong Kong IDDSI reference group.
