David Coen is the Vice Dean International for the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor of Public Policy at the Department of Political Science, and founding Director of the Global Governance Institute at the Univeristy College London. Previously, he has worked for the London Business School and the Max Planck Institute in Cologne. Coen has been a visiting professor as a Schuman Distinguished Fellowship at the Institute of Advance Studies at the European University Institute, the Fernand Braudel Professorial Fellowship at the Political Science Department European University Institute, the Fullbright Distinguished Professor Fellowship at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
In his research, Coen focuses on business and government relations, business and Brexit, climate governance and regulation as well as the EU regulatory reform. His research has been published in public policy and business journals. He holds a bachelor of arts from University of Portsmouth, a MSc of Cardiff University and a PhD of European University Institute.
