Prof. Chu is Chair Professor and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at The University of Hong Kong. He is the President of the Society of Preventive Dentistry of Hong Kong (2021-2023), the President of the Asia Academy of Preventive Dentistry (2021-2023), a Member of FDI Public Health Committee (2021-2024), the Vice President of the Asian and Oceanian Federation of Conservative Dentistry (2020-2023) and the Immediate Past President of Southeast Asians Association for Dental Education (2020-2022).
Prof. Chu is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) and received the prestigious lifelong learning and service recognition award from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2015. He is a fellow of the Hong Kong College of Dental Surgeons (FCDSHK), and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (FHKAM) and is a registered specialist in Family Dentistry in Hong Kong. Through overseas examinations, and became a fellow of the Royal Australasians College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS) in Sydney Australia, a dental fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FDSRCSEd) in Edinburgh UK, and a diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry (ABGD) in Chicago USA. Prof Chu was elected as a fellow of the International College of Dentists (FICD), a fellow of the Faculty of Dental Trainers the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh (FFDTEd) and a fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials (FADM).
