Casey Duckering is a Ph.D. student at the University of Chicago advised by Prof. Chong. Casey has received B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) and Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.S. in Computer Science while at UChicago. His research aims to bring together quantum algorithms and quantum error correction with their physical implementations on NISQ quantum computers and beyond along with some work on multi-valued qubits called qudits. His work has been recognized with a Best Paper Runner-Up from MICRO'20 and two IEEE Micro Top Pick Awards.
