About me

Mr. Andrew Baer is a senior economist in the Real Sector Division of the IMF Statistics Department. Mr. Baer joined the Fund in 2019. He specializes in supporting a broad range of countries in developing and improving producer price statistics. Before joining the IMF, he was the Assistant Division Chief for Service Sector Statistics at the US Census Bureau, responsible for the annual survey of US service sector businesses and the Economic Census for the services industries. Mr. Baer previously worked on producer price indexes (PPIs) for 16 years at the US Bureau of Labor Statistics in multiple positions, including as the Chief of the Services PPI Section.
